Why We Exist

Most people researching annuities run into the same wall: the information is either a sales pitch dressed up as education, or a blanket warning that lumps every annuity together and tells you to stay away. Neither one helps you make a decision about your own retirement.

We started The Annuity Institute to be the resource we wished existed. A place where someone in their late 50s or early 60s, sorting out how to turn savings into income that lasts, can get a straight answer. Not a product recommendation. A clear explanation of how these tools actually work, who they fit, and who they do not.

What We Stand For

Independence

We do not sell annuities and we earn nothing on what you buy. That means our education is not steered by which product pays the most. We can tell you when an annuity is the wrong tool, because we have no reason not to.

Plain Language

Caps, participation rates, surrender periods, riders. The jargon is half the reason annuities feel intimidating. We translate it into language that respects your intelligence without assuming you speak insurance.

No Pressure

Nothing here is built to rush you into a contract. If and when you want to talk to a specialist, that conversation is about fit, not closing a sale. The right decision is the one that holds up years from now.

Who We Serve

Most of the people we help are between 55 and 65, within sight of retirement, with savings they have worked decades to build and a simple worry: making it last. They are not looking to gamble and they are not looking to be sold. They want to understand their options well enough to make a confident decision.
